Terms of Service

Last updated 26 August 2026

These are the terms you agree to by using SparePartsAlert. The section most worth reading is What we do and don't promise — it explains the real limits of an automated search, so you know what you're buying before you pay for it.

Who these terms are with

SparePartsAlert is operated by Spare Parts Alert LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or paying for monitoring, you agree to these terms. If you're using the service for an employer, you confirm you're allowed to agree on its behalf.

What the service does

You give us a part number or item to watch. We research what it is, look for places it can be bought, and email you when we find something new. Free accounts can save part numbers and get one research pass per part. Paid monitoring re-checks a part on a schedule and shows you the full listing details.

What we do and don't promise

This matters more than anything else here, so it's stated plainly rather than buried:

  • We don't guarantee we'll find your part. Some items simply aren't for sale anywhere we can see. Paying for monitoring buys you the searching, not a result.
  • Listings come from third parties and can be wrong, stale, or gone. Prices change, items sell, and sellers remove listings without notice. Several large marketplaces and distributors block automated access entirely, which means we often cannot verify that a link still works before showing it to you. Always confirm price, condition, availability, and authenticity with the seller before buying.
  • Stock figures and shipping locations are only what a listing states. Where a listing says nothing, we show nothing rather than estimating.
  • We're not a party to your purchase. We don't sell parts, hold stock, handle your payment to a seller, or arrange shipping. Any transaction is between you and that seller, under their terms.
  • We don't verify authenticity or fitment. Where a listing mentions grading or certification, we pass that claim along; we don't confirm it. Deciding whether a part is genuine or correct for your application is yours.
  • Alerts are best effort. Email can be delayed, filtered, or bounced, and checks can be delayed by an outage at us or at a provider we depend on.

If you're relying on a part for something safety-critical, treat this service as a lead-finding tool and verify independently.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't scrape or resell our output, hammer the service automatically, try to get around plan limits or paywalls, or use it to break the law. We can suspend an account that does. One person or business per account.

Payment, renewal, and cancellation

  • Monitoring is billed per part per month — $2 for standard checks, $4 for daily ("urgent") checks — through Stripe. Prices shown at checkout are what apply.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
  • You can cancel any time from your dashboard by turning monitoring off for a part, or by cancelling the subscription. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.
  • Because each check costs us real money the moment it runs, payments are generally non-refundable. That said, if the service didn't do what it said it would — it wasn't checking when you were paying for checks — email us and we'll make it right.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A price change never applies to a period you've already paid for.
  • Failed payment pauses monitoring rather than deleting anything.

Your data and ours

Your watchlist is yours, and you can delete it or your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for what we store and for how long. The research we generate about a part number (what it is, its equivalents, observed prices) is not personal to you and is cached and reused across customers; that shared record stays with us. Listing content itself belongs to whoever published it.

Ending the service

You can stop at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we may discontinue the service — if we do, we'll give notice by email and refund any period you've paid for but not received.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost profit, downtime, a purchase that went wrong, or a part you didn't get in time. Where liability can't be excluded, ours is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or anything else that can't lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we'll update this page and email account holders. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Spare Parts Alert LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these terms: sparepartsalert@gmail.com.
